The tournament took place from September 12th to 14th in Gentofte, Copenhagen, and was hosted by JKS Denmark. The following members excelled with medals:

Sara de Riso (8–9 years)

Kata: 3rd place – Bronze

Kumite: 2nd place – Silver

Nadir Affinito (40–44 years)

Kata: 2nd place – Silver

Kumite: 3rd place – Bronze

Artyom Kulagin, Martin Jans, Nadir Affinito‍

Team Kumite 40+: 1st place – Gold

Also noteworthy is Martin Jans' performance, who achieved 4th place in the Kata Individual 40–44 years category. In the Team Kata 20+ category, Nadir Affinito, Artyom Kulagin, and Martin Jans also achieved a very respectable 4th place.

The absolute highlight was the 1st place in Team Kumite. Since Nadir was unable to compete due to injury, Artyom and Martin absolutely had to win each of their Kumite matches – and they succeeded with swift attacks, not conceding a single point. The team can now proudly call themselves JKS European Champions.

It is particularly pleasing that many other members of our school participated in the tournament. Even though it wasn't enough for a medal this time, the experience of participating in such a large tournament with over 600 participants from all over Europe was a valuable one. Heartfelt congratulations on their participation to: Sofia de Riso, Barbara Schulz Mori , Domenico Di Maulo, Lawrence Wermelskirchen, Romina Breu and Eric Zwinger.

On behalf of TAIHO-BUKAN, we extend our sincere thanks to JKS Denmark, especially to Shihan Jan Spatzek, Sensei Jesper Markvardsen, Malene Krause, and the entire organizing committee for the excellent organization of the tournament and their hospitality. Further thanks go to JKS Switzerland and especially to President Sensei Nadir Affinito for organizing the travel, accommodation, and all other details. We also thank the coaches from JKS Switzerland for their support of the competitors on the competition floor, as well as the parents and spectators , who traveled to Denmark for the tournament.
